Lisa Emery is a well-known American stage, film, and television actress. She is best known for playing Darlene Snell on the Netflix American crime drama series Ozark. She attended Hollins College. At first, she planned to study painting but became interested in drama classes instead.
After graduating from college, she studied at the Circle in the Square Theatre School for a year, then auditioned. She moved to New York with her then longtime partner. They ultimately broke up, and she enrolled in the Circle in the Square two-year program. In 1982, she moved to the East Village.
Lisa Emery’s theatre credits include The Matchmaker, Dinner with Friends, What the Butler Saw, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Talley & Son, and Relatively Speaking. She received nominations for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play three times.
Her film credits include A Map of the World, Unfaithful, The Night Listener, and Margot at the Wedding. On television, she had a reoccurring role in Ed and has made guest appearances on Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Third Watch, Fringe, Damages, and Jessica Jones.
